Roasted Grape Brie Crostini with Honey and Walnuts is an elegant appetizer combining the caramelized sweetness of roasted grapes, creamy Brie cheese, toasted walnuts, and a delicate drizzle of honey, all layered on crispy crostini. This sophisticated yet simple recipe offers a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and crunchy textures, ideal for entertaining or enjoying a refined snack.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crostini

  • Thin slices of baguette or artisan bread
  • Olive oil for brushing

For the Roasted Grapes

  • Seedless red or black grapes, about 2 cups
  • 12 teaspoons olive oil
  • Fresh rosemary (optional), 1 teaspoon chopped

For the Toppings

  • 4 ounces Brie cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts, roughly chopped
  • Honey, for drizzling (about 2 tablespoons)

Instructions

  1. Roast the Grapes: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss grapes with olive oil and fresh rosemary if using. Spread evenly on a baking sheet. Roast for 20 minutes until grapes are soft, juicy, and starting to caramelize.
  2. Toast the Crostini: Thinly slice the baguette or bread. Lightly brush both sides with olive oil. Arrange on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  3. Prepare the Walnuts: While grapes roast, toast walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool. Roughly chop once cooled.
  4. Assemble the Crostini: Spread slices of Brie on warm crostini so cheese softens slightly. Top each crostini with a generous spoonful of roasted grapes and sprinkle with toasted walnuts.
  5. Drizzle with Honey and Serve: Just before serving, drizzle each crostini with honey to beautifully balance the sweet and savory flavors.

Notes

  • Use room temperature Brie to ensure it softens nicely on the warm crostini.
  • Avoid overcrowding grapes on the baking sheet to ensure even roasting and caramelization.
  • Toast crostini thoroughly to maintain crispness under juicy toppings.
  • Add honey only before serving to preserve its fresh floral flavor.
  • Watch walnuts carefully while toasting to prevent burning and bitterness.
