Ingredients

Scale

Tea Base

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea
  • 1 teaspoon chai spice blend (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, black pepper)

Cherry Flavor

  • 2 tablespoons cherry syrup or cherry juice (adjust to taste)

Sweetener (Optional)

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey, maple syrup, or sugar (adjust to taste)

Milk

  • 1 cup milk or milk alternative (almond, oat, coconut, soy)

Others

  • Ice cubes
  • Cinnamon (for garnish)
  • Fresh cherries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew Your Chai Tea Strong: Steep the black tea and chai spices in 2 cups of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes to extract the maximum flavor, creating a strong chai base.
  2. Sweeten and Add Cherry Flavor: While the tea is still warm, stir in your chosen sweetener and cherry syrup or juice until fully blended, infusing the chai with deep cherry sweetness.
  3. Cool Down the Mixture: Let the chai cherry mixture cool to room temperature, then chill it in the refrigerator to prevent ice from melting too quickly and diluting the drink.
  4. Add Milk and Ice: Pour chilled milk into the cold chai cherry mixture and stir gently. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the iced latte over them, achieving the perfect chilled texture.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a few fresh cherries for an inviting presentation. Enjoy immediately for the best flavor.

Notes

  • Use high-quality loose-leaf black tea for the best flavor.
  • Sweeten the tea while still warm to ensure proper dissolution.
  • Fully chill the tea before adding ice to avoid dilution.
  • Customize the spice level by adjusting the chai spice blend amount.
  • Use homemade or fresh cherry syrup for a more natural flavor.
